The Normal Day.

I love this poem. I read it often to remind myself that this moment right now, the nothing-unusual day I've just had with my children and my husband and my friends and the trees and the air, is beautiful, meaningful,  and worth celebrating...

Normal day,
Let me be aware
Of the treasure you
Are. Let me learn
From you, love you,
Before you depart.
Let me not pass
You by in quest of
Some rare and
Perfect tomorrow.
Let me hold you
While I may, for it
Will not always be
So. One day I
Shall dig my fingers
Into the earth, or
Bury my face in the
Pillow, or stretch my-
Self taught, or raise
My hands to the sky,
And want more
Than all the world
Your return.

That is a beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing.

Is it just me or do other feel the way I do? When I'm home with the kids, every day seem to be full of adventure and full of magic. Sometimes, I have a hard time believing it is real and that I'm this lucky.

So funny...while I was reading it I thought, "Oh, I love that poem too!" And then I read the bottom. My memory is a little sketchy! It makes me get teary every time I read it! Thanks for the reminder.

What a lovely poem. :) I am happy to hear you have been enjoying my blog. I am looking forward to reading yours as well.

I like the idea of a felt wall hanging. While living in Nashville, a friend of mine had a large felt wall hanging she had made and it was so simple and beautiful. Also, I remember having a felt Advent calendar my mom had made when we were younger as well. :) I have no experience of my own at working with felt, so I look forward to learning from your blog!
