Here are the beeswax leaf ornaments we made today... aren't they darling?
First, we melted our beeswax in a homemade baine-marie (if you want to find out how to safely melt beeswax, please have a look at my other beeswax posts)
Then, we poured the melted wax into the leaf molds...
The wonderful thing about using a silicone mold is that, as you can see, you don't have to be perfect!
When the wax had cooled slightly, I inserted a skewer into the leaf, making a hole in the wax for the hanging ribbon.
When they are fully set, pop the leaves out of the molds, string them on ribbons and hang them in a special place in your home.
Ours are hanging from our chandelier and the warmth from the lights warms the beeswax, sending it's sweet aroma around the room... hmmmmm, it's wonderful!

as we were dipping our leaves this weekend, something that we do each autumn, i thought about how i would like to get a leaf mold to pour some ornaments! what a great score! they are lovely. ;)
A skewer--great idea! I pour crayon wax into my silicon molds. I'm going to have to see if a skewer will turn those into ornaments, too.
I love it! I never would have thought to check out the chocolate molds.

We just harvested our honey yesterday so in about a week when the honey has dripped off the wax, and once we use the double boiler to melt it down...we will have our own WAX. I am really excited! This is our first year having bees.

beautiful ! I will be dipping more beeswax candles next week and may just pour some for autumn decorations. I have a similar mold and may also get a head start on Christmas by pouring some for my old fashioned German wax molds
