These sentiments are the inspiration behind 'The Story of a Treasure' meme... each week (for a while, anyway) I'm going to show you something I have that I love and tell you the story behind why I love it. In thinking of the things I have that are deeply special to me, I realize that I love each one for a very different reason. I think it's going to be fun to explore the history of my treasures and I know it's going to be wonderful one day for Kitty and Teddy to know why I loved the little thing that they new own. I hope you will play along too. I invite you to explore your own treasures and post the histories behind your things on your own blogs. Each week, I'll add a link-up for you to share your special treasures on The Magic Onions. You can play along each week or just once in a while or, you can just enjoy reading about why we love the things we have.
Enjoy!
Here is the treasure we want to share with you this week. We found it at a garage sale about two years ago and it has hung in Kitty's room ever since. We bought it for a dollar... yes, a dollar!
It is a needle point of the sweetest forest scene... Kitty and I have spent hours lying in her bed making up all kinds of stories for the little animals in the picture. It has brought us wonderful imaginings together that I, and I'm sure she too, will cherish forever.
And, to top it all off, Kitty's beloved Granny from South Africa was with us at the time we found it... it was actually Granny who saw it first!
We look at all the stitches so lovingly placed and know that somebody spent many hours making this treasure for us and we thank them often, even though we don't know who they are.
I so enjoyed leaning about the treasures you linked to last week and I wanted to share them here. Click on the links to read more about each treasure.
This is Suzy's treasure. It is a beautifully wrapped little gift from her mom and the note reads...
Whenever you are lonely or even feeling blue, You only have to hold this gift... And know I think of you! You never can unwrap it, please leave the ribbon tied Just hold the box close to your heart It's filled with love inside!
Are your eyes stinging with tears? Yes, mine are too :-)
I will remember this for when my own little chicks are ready to fly from my nest.
Arianne shared a whole host of treasures with us. How could this little guy not be a treasure?
Valerie shared her utterly darling, vintage, toy cooking set that reminds her of her Grandparents.

Anya shared her husband's beautiful stamp collection with us. I know that my brother, who has a totally wonderful childhood stamp collection too, is going to drool over this one :-) Love ya Al.
Thanks for sharing, Gals... I would treasure your treasures too :-)
I look forward to seeing this weeks collection of treasures. So, link up, Dudes.
Blessings and magic,
Donni

El enlace que te he enviado es un bordado en lino que hice a mi hermana Ana para su cumpleaños. Fue una labor que hice durante 2 años a escondidas.
Ha hecho un magnífico cojín que preside su cama.
Espero que te guste, saludos

Wow, this needlework is beautiful! Now I wonder where I could find a chart for it (*obsessive cross-stitcher here*) :D
Just found your enchanting blog and plan to make myself comfortable and browse around a bit. Linking up my find of a brass unicorn this week. I am a thing finder and look forward to sharing in your finds and the finds of others each week!
What a beautiful treasure!
