Hi Friends,
I'm delighted to introduce a new Magic Sponsor... welcome to Sarah of Sarah's Silks. Below, Sarah answers a few questions and then generously offers a super $50 Spending Spree in her shop. Thank you, Sarah's Silks!
I have my own little silk story to introduce this lovely shop. Our family is moving into our new house at the end of June and I have slowly been going through the children's cupboards, boxing what we will be taking with us, what we will be giving to friends and what we will be donating. What an amazing thing it has been to take stock of what we have, what we need, what we have outgrown and what has become clutter. In this 'cleaning out' process I have had a basket set aside for all the silks I find throughout the house. I kid you not, we have 23 silks in the basket already. Ice blue, dark blue, sky blue, green, grass green, moss green, coral, pink, yellow, mustard, brown, tan, red, orange, purple, mauve... and the list goes on. Now, you would think that I would for sure be saying, 'What on earth do we need all these silks for?' And you would probably also think that some would be going into the 'donate' box... but, on this, Friends, you would be totally wrong! NO WAY would we be able to part with a single silk! Each one becomes an invaluable part of our week... Teddy flies with mauve silken wings, Kitty sets her tea table for her bunnies using a pretty pink silken tablecloth, Sonny and Ginger are put to sleep in silken sheets... they become green mountains for Kitty's fairies, brown deserts, blue lakes... each and every one of the 23 is played with, treasured and loved... some we have dyed ourselves, some been given, some bought but each one is as beautiful as the day we received it. Playsilks are magic!
So, without further ado, meet Sarah...

We love using them to tickle toddler faces! (Also, we like to build backdrops and to put their babydolls to bed.)
love the play silks set, so simple and gorgeous for imaginary play.

The silks can immediate create the mood for any background we need when we create a play!
In our house, the few play silks we have become capes and ballerina dresses most often, both for my 2 year old son! :) I would love to have a real collection of them instead of just the two that we've come across.
I love the beautiful colors and how they inspire creativity in kids. :)

I love the silks we have in our house because their uses are endless!! Some days the blue one is a river while the green on is the grass... other days that blue one is a baby sling while the red one is a cape! I love seeing what my girls come up with next!! IF I win I would love to get them a big one for making tents...

oh fun- my boys love their plays silks for dancing- we love to twirl around the house with them.
I subscribe to Sarah's email list on her blog!
Using silks in my puppet stories always delights the children in my Kindergarten, perhaps as a blanket of snow which falls overnight and covers the three kings tracks from Babushka, or the yellow porridge spilling out or its pot and covering up the whole village. I also use a rainbow silk on my special birthday table.
And I pinned on pinterest!
Yay! Sarah has such a way with silks! Silks are our favorite "toy" - we use them for everything!
What's not to love? My favorite thing about Sarah's Silks is that all my children, aged 4-12, love them. I'm always amazed at what they come up with. And when we travel, its the first thing to be packed!

Aria likes to pretend they are slings to carry about her stuffed animals!
my kids use playsilks for all sorts of play... a cape, doll's blanket, water, private spaces. I love giving them as gifts and seeing our friends draped in them. we'd love some fancy ones and could use more since it's tent making season!
Introducing play silks has help change the way my daughter plays. Usually, pulling them out when we have other kids over is met with weird looks from the parents but about 30 minutes later, the parents are sold as they watch play silks change their kids to princesses, knights, etc. :)
Colors...foster imagination...

my niece would be totally delighted with the rainbow silk. Really she would enjoy any of it. Her mom and dad are breaking up and she really needs her imagination to go into overload since she doesn't understand what is happening.

What is not to love about Sarahs silks... we have quite the collection- silks, "horse reins", parachutes, mulberry fairies, sea canopy, garlands and onwards and my three children play with them all- all the time, every season. Would love some "real" butterfly wings- though the square silks work too!

I love their silks because I love watching how creative the kids get when they play with these silks...One minute the silk is a pond for their toy fish the next minute it's a cape that's my daughter is flitting around in!! These silks have brought so much joy to our family...we really do love them so much!!
My favorite thing about the silks is that they are used by all of my children. 3 month old-peek a boo, 2YO turns them into the most gorgeous attire and my 7 year old creates secret hideouts.
